As I begin my final year at St. Mary’s, I am feeling excited but also scared for the upcoming semester. I have taken a variety of art courses; however, this will be the first semester where I take a media production and visual communication design course. I am thrilled because it has always been a goal of mine to take a class like this, but I never had the opportunity to do so. I am excited to be able to learn new media skills and to create my own website. I have never used a Mac computer because they’ve always seemed difficult to handle, so I am excited to be able to utilize a Mac. A challenge that I am anticipating is that I won’t be able to meet all the required deadlines for my classes this semester. Although I have never failed to meet a deadline, it’s always a worry of mine. I also anticipate that I will not be able to create a good quality media project.

However, I will manage my challenges by always attending class, paying close attention to all the details and using a calendar to help me meet all my deadlines. This course is important for my intended career because it will help me develop skills in directing and editing films and videos. In conclusion, I have heard great things about the professor, so I know that I will learn greatly. I am excited that I will have the opportunity to learn new media skills that will be essential in my major and career aspirations.
